Wiesbaden English Language Theater (WELT) grew out of the creative dreams of three American actors / directors. All of them had been active at the US Army's Amelia Earhart Playhouse (AEP) in Wiesbaden for a number of years. In 2011, the management of the AEP left Germany for retirement in the US. It was not clear at the time whether the AEP would continue to receive funding. Therefore, the jump was made and WELT was founded by Keith D Greenleaf, Stacey Groves and Roy Mroch.

Since then, WELT has produced one-act play evenings, the world-premiere and revival of Mike Riepl's Dinner for Five - the story of Miss Sophie's 40th birthday, romantic comedies and intriguing dramas.

Wiesbaden Performing Arts Center (WPAC) started as a concept presented to the city of Wiesbaden in the autumn of 2014. At that time, one of the privately-owned theater buildings in Wiesbaden became available and WELT was also looking for a permanent home. After the city decided to give the space to other theater organization, we continued our search. After numerous attempts and years of building site inspections, we have finally found a space in Wiesbaden that works wonderfully as a theater.
